Where this list comes from

Coverings 2026 ran March 30 to April 2, 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The ten trend names below were published by the show organiser ahead of the event. Read the official press release. The list was also reported by trade press including Designers Today and Floor Covering News.

An earlier version of this article listed incorrect show dates and implied the trend list had been confirmed by GleamRock on the show floor. Both errors have been corrected. The dates above are the dates published by the organiser, and the trend list is the organiser's own selection.

The ten trend names

1. Articulated Accents

Glaze and surface treatments that read as materials other than ceramic, including leather-like and sandstone-like effects.

2. Brutalish Sanctuary

Concrete, terrazzo and matte stone looks used in restrained, largely monochromatic schemes.

3. Gilded Age

Gold, bronze, copper and silver tones, from fine metallic veining through to fully lustred surfaces.

4. Haptic Experience

High-relief tiles, deep grooves and undulating profiles where touch and shadow are the point.

5. Jade Terrain

Jade green and related tones. The organiser describes this trend as drawing on the serenity and sophistication associated with the stone.

6. Micro-Illusions

Small-format tiles arranged into complex or optically active patterns.

7. Organic Minimalism

A cooler, calmer minimalism built on organic shapes and natural tones rather than stark white.

8. Surface Technologies

Production methods that give tile sculptural, three-dimensional relief. The organiser notes that advances in glazing chemistry and digital production can make finishes shift with light and viewing angle.

9. Tailored Craft

Fashion-derived motifs such as houndstooth, pinstripe and chevron weaves.

10. Tile as Art

Bold graphics, trompe-l'oeil effects and mural-scale compositions.
